Benefits of Membership

The Minnesota Mechanical Contractors Association is pleased that you have taken the time to explore our website and want to know more about why a contractor or business would want to join our organization. MMCA is a member driven organization with a full-time staff designed to lead and direct our industry. MMCA and its predecessor organizations have been in existence for over 100 years and offers you the following services.

Represents contractors in:
Labor relations matters, including labor negotiations
Apprenticeship committees
Forming training programs for journeymen and apprentices
Legislative matters on the local, state, and national levels
Various code committees
Many government agencies (OSHA, EEO, Building Inspectors, etc.)
Provides liaison with architects and engineers.
Regular membership meetings provide a forum for discussing industry problems.
Publishes a monthly newsletter to explain developments that affect all levels of the industry.
Works on promoting the industry.
Provides trustees for fringe benefit programs.
Offers management seminars on a variety of subjects.
A close liaison with other contractor associations.
A clearinghouse for information and a place for contractors to call to register their opinions, voice their concerns, and request help on industry problems.
Develops special labor agreements reflecting customers' needs.
Provides access to a group health and welfare plan for office employees.
The experienced, full-time staff implements the directives of the contractors.
Provides access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for office employees.
Handles Minneapolis and St. Paul plumbing permit applications for members.
Puts on an annual golf tournament for members.
Hosts an annual dinner dance.
Developed and published eight resource manuals entitled "Encyclopedia Mechanica" to assist employers in the mechanical industry.
Developed an interactive website to keep members updated on industry developments, provide resource material and inform non-members of MMCA benefits.
